One Month till Take Off

The Countdown is Real!

In just under a month, both Riley and I will leave our jobs, officially move out of our little Seattle apartment, and fly to California, where we will take off to the first stop of our nine-month adventure.

The main reason I decided to start this blog was to document and share our travels, adventures, and experiences with family and friends. Since we are so close to leaving, it is time to start writing about our trip because we know these final months filled with preparing, packing, and planning, will fly by!

Now that our jobs, friends, and even the regulars at the coffee shop I currently manage know that we are leaving Seattle to travel, we are getting inundated with questions such as:

Are you stressed?
Are you ready?
Are you nervous?
Are you excited?
Are you ever coming home?

The answers to all of the above are …Yes?

Except for the “are you ready” question, I’m not sure if you can ever feel ready for an experience as large as this. However, we are doing as much as we can to feel ready. We are even fake packing our bags to ensure everything we want to bring will fit in the two backpacks we will be living out of.

We have completely planned the first portion of our trip, which includes a week exploring Lisbon and Portugal before we take on the Camino de Santiago. We have also solidified some World Packers in both Spain and Morocco. And we have ever so slowly begun the move-out process!

We have also been talking more about all of the fun, crazy, and wild experiences that we might have. We even created a bingo sheet to see how many of these things will happen!

As we spend the next few weeks moving out of Seattle, packing, and saying goodbyes, let us know if you have any ideas for us to add to our Bingo!
